Drop-in
Tuesday & Thursday 8pm – 10pm (Year 10 & up)
Drop-in is the foundation of all that we do at The Edge. It is a time to make connections and build relationships and where we can help young people find programmes that will meet their specific needs.
Friday Drop-in 3-5pm (Year 8 & up)
This is a time to give those in year 8 & 9 a wee taste of what the Edge is like!
Music Night
Wednesdays 7.30 – 9.30pm
A place to foster the creative juices of our budding rock stars. Whether you are just learning or already have a band, this is the place for you. Weekly tuition, practice facilities and several gigs a year to showcase young local talent.
Schools Work
The Edge aims to work alongside local High Schools to provide the best possible support for their students. We are involved in assemblies, RE, coaching and personal & social development courses.
Detached Youth Work (MorEdge)
Friday nights 10pm – 2am
The Edge is on the streets. The aim of this project is to reach out to young people that don’t go to youth clubs and to build positive, trusting and challenging relationships with them. Our goal is to enable these young people to find the information and tools that they need to reach their full potential as individuals and members of their communities.
Homework Club
Thursday 3 – 5pm
We are committed to helping young people reach their potential & one way we seek to do this is through our homework club. Young people come along each week where they have access to computers & peace & quiet!
BtE
“Beyond the Edge”
Beyond the Edge is the place where we go a little deeper and create a space to ask some of the bigger questions in life. It’s a multi-media event that uses live music, movies, drama, discussion, games, and even poetry to look at topics that we all have to deal with. Love, Sex, Drugs, Grace, Hope, Sectarianism, Peace, Self esteem, Potential, What am I here for, Life, Death, Faith…
Yearly...
Outward Bound
January to April
This project is about bringing young people together from across our community to build bridges, face challenges and grow together while developing team work, leadership and initiative skills. (In cooperation with Outward Bound UK/NI.)
Romania
February to August
In this project we take young people way out of their comfort zones and stretch them to the point that they will never be the same again. After 6 months of training, planning and fundraising we take a group of about 16 young people to serve hundreds of orphans in Romania by helping to run a residential summer camp with Livada Orphan Care.
